Children are like different roses. Don’t crush and spoil their fragrance

Child abuse is found in all cultural, ethnic, and income groups. Child Abuse may cause serious harm to the child that finally may result in death. It has many effects on the child, like emotional, physical, and behavioral effects.

Emotional effects include depression, and anxiety, low self-esteem eating difficulty, relationship conflicts, alienation and withdrawal, and personality disorders. Physical effects of child abuse include injury, death, lifelong health issues, cognitive problems, and physical disabilities.

Behavioral effects may include problems in school and at work, dereliction of duty, teenage pregnancy, suicide attempts, criminal or antisocial behavior, substance abuse or addiction, violent and aggressive behavior, spousal and domestic abuse, and child abuse, and anger.

Child abuse can have alarming and awful effects in both childhood and adulthood. The effects of child abuse vary according to the severity and sensitivity of the abuse and the surrounding environment of the child. If the family or school environment is supportive and nurturing, the child may have a healthier outcome.

The true character of a society is revealed in how it treats its children

There are many causes or factors that are involved in child abuse. The mental problem or disorder of the abuser is a common factor that leads to severe forms of illness.ย  Psychosocial factors also play a pivotal role.

Stress including extra care for children, or having the stress of caring for a child with a disability, special requirements or difficult behaviors and attitudes is also an important factor. It is seen often that physical abuse is a result of excessive discipline or physical punishment that is not appropriate for the child’s age.

The parents sometimes may not be aware of the excessive force with which they strike a child. This abuse can be treated appropriately with Cognitive Behavioral therapy, other therapeutic methods, education, EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and other approaches.

Reducing the occurrence of child abuse is possible through education and intervention. Psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is based on changing cognitions, beliefs, assumptions, and behaviors that aim to influence disturbing emotions.

Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun; not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul

Prevention of child abuse is a societal and governmental issue. When children reach age three, parents should begin teaching their children about “bad touches” and about confiding in a suitable adult. parents should spend time with their children.

Govt should take concrete steps for the prevention of rape and murder of small children instead of treating them as law and odder cases. Govt should introduce life skills in the curriculum of the education system that would base on health, hygiene, and emotional development.

To curb child abuse, strict legal action should be taken against the criminals and abusers. The abusers should be given severe punishment and should be hanged. Self-defense skills should also be provided to small children. an interactive relationship should be developed for their safety.

The only reason why child abuse is still alive is that we as adults fail our children when we fail to listen to them. Listen to a child today

Social awareness about child abuse can be given through social media. Such programs should be initiated on all the social media platforms for providing education to parents that they should be communicative with their children and train them against physical assaults.
